Many companies tell you that you have to come back to them or a factory service center for maintenance witch is not true at all. You can do them your self or have a marine service do them for you as long as you keep your receipts for your records if anything happens you are covered. If you are going to do them your self or even have a professional do them for you. First thing to do is educate your self on your engine and it’s maintenance need. There is a lot more to service than just changing oil and filters. There are grease points, anoides, special ways to fill some gear cases and many other things to look at. If your comfortable doing them your self have fun. If you are getting a professional to do it make sure they are in the know on your engine each company has there own things to check for so make sure your mechanic is familiar with the newer engines and things to look for. Don’t always assume the dealership has the qualified techs to do the job yes in a perfect world they have properly trained techs but facing facts it is not a perfect world. So if your going service your engine yourself by a mechanic or a dealership do your research first.
